If you’re a fellow foodie and haven’t already visited Smorgasburg Los Angeles, I highly recommend it since it’s a delicious festival filled with unique picture worthy food. I myself have been to Smorgasburg Los Angeles 3 times but this is my first time going with my family, which was a completely different experience. Going with a large group was the absolute best since we shared a ton of food so I got to try a little bit of everything without feeling like I wasted anything.
One of my favorite aspects of Smorgasburg Los Angeles is that there is no entry free and you don’t need to reserve your spot or purchase anything in advance. You simply pay for what you want to eat which makes it affordable compared to other food festivals.
The event takes place every Sunday from 10am-4pm and offers over 60 vendors for you to eat, shop, and drink.
We arrived 20 minutes before the festival began and parking was easy and convenient. The parking lot on Sundays is 2 hours free with a $4.50 daily maximum.
I definitely recommend going early to avoid long lines and having to wait for a spot to sit. My #1 recommendation is to reserve a spot to sit especially if you are going to be getting something like lobster which is best ate sitting down. Also don’t be afraid to ask a small group if you can sit on the untaken side of the table so you can enjoy your food as much as possible.
The last time I went a few weeks ago, I really wanted to try Shrimp Daddy. Unfortunately the line was just too long so I ended up getting other food considering I was starving. This trip to Smorgasburg I was able to get my pineapple boat from Shrimp Daddy and it was all I thought it would be. It was so yummy, freshly made, and totally picture worthy.
Matcha Magic Drink
From Young Bud
This drink was ridiculously cute so as a individual who is obsessed with anything matcha, I had to try it even if it was pricey. The drink was good yet it wasn’t anything so special that I would get again anytime soon. They had other green tea drinks which I’ll try next time instead.
From Shrimp Daddy
I finally got to get my pineapple boat and I absolutely loved it. I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves fried shrimp and garlic. The food costs $13.95 but they charge an additional $3.00 for the pineapple boat which for me was a must.
Beef Tacos with Spicy Sauce, Onions & Cilantro
$16 for 4
From TJ Tacos
These tacos were yummy but for being $4 each, I thought they were a little small and not as yummy compared to the Peruvian tacos I had.
Lomo Saltado Tacos
$8 for 2
From Little Llama Peruvian Tacos
These tacos were full of flavor and extremely delicious. They had a traditional taco taste with so many extra flavor and texture which made them unique. These tacos were $4 each as well.
As a huge fan of lobster, $22 for a whole lobster was an absolute steal which I had to try. I’ve had Lobsterdamus so many times but I’ve never tried their whole lobster option. Compared to how expensive anything lobster typical is, their prices are very affordable for all they have to offer. I’ve had their lobster fries recently and they are super good. Their lobster isn’t overly fishy so even if you aren’t the biggest fan of lobster, it’s worth the try. The whole lobster I had was so flavorful, well cooked, and cleaned properly which is really important. Half of my lobster was regular butter flavor and the other was cajun. I loved both flavors and thought it was great that you can choose two options.
Hawaiian Shaved Ice
From The Chichi Dango
After all that food, we needed something sweet before we left. Since it was extremely hot, shaved ice seemed like the perfect option. This shaved ice was topped with condensed milk, strawberries, mochi, boba and multiple other options. The shaved ice was refreshing and sweet. I would never be able to finish one on my own since after a few bites I had enough sweetness. I definitely recommend getting one just make sure to share it with another person if you don’t want too much since the portion is very generous.
